Street Scenes II Exhibition:  Deadline for entry extended to  December 17, 2017

Enter through Online Juried Shows, don't miss this exhibition!  The exhibit will feature work on the homeless by Martin Cohen and David Blumenkrantz, as well as our project featuring photography by homeless individuals living in the San Fernando Valley.

MONOPRINT WORKSHOP January 7, 2018 - don't miss out !!

SFVACC is presenting a printmaking workshop by Judy Dekel.  Participants will be introduced to the methodology and techniques of Monoprint printmaking and will proceed to produce a series of compositions throughout the day.  Registration is limited to 15 people - Register here!

"Who Do You Think You Are?" opening on November 14

Forty artists will be displaying their art to let you know just who they really are.  The exhibit opens Tuesday, November 14 and an artists' reception will take place on Sunday November 19 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  The exhibit's juror was Lesley Krane, a professor in art & photography at CSUN.  Please join us for a little artist identification that is sure to show these artists' true colors.

 

"Uncommon Threads II" ready to weave a little magic for the holidays  

The San Fernando Valley Arts & Cultural Center (SFVACC) presents “Uncommon Threads II”, a fiber, quilting and weaving exhibit from 2 local organizations – Surface Art Association and Frayed Edges.  This exhibit was so popular last year that we’ve decided to do it again!  Each organization will display their fiber art in ½ of the gallery.  The exhibits opens on Tuesday, December 5 and an artists' reception will take place on Sunday December 10 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  Be sure to visit our Marketplace where smaller unique fiber items will be sold.  NOTE:  We are starting the reception one hour earlier than previously advertised!

 

Collage Artists of America Pop-Up Boutique

Join the rest of the creative shoppers at CAA's Pop-Up Boutique on Friday, November 17 from 1:30 - 4:00 pm at the SFVACC. Lots of artistic and unique items for sale. Shop for one-of-a-kind gifts made by some of L.A.'s most distinguished artists - Original Art, Cards, Jewelry, Pottery, Glassware, Accessories and more.  Enjoy the new exhibit "Who Do You Think You Are?" as well.

Calling All Volunteers!

2017 will bring about a new concept in sitting at the Center.  We will be putting together a team of professional docents to watch over the Center during our exhibits.  These docents will be trained in everything they should know about running the Center and being a welcoming representative behind the reception desk. Organizations can also have their members keep our professional docents company, if they so wish.  We will need to fill thirty 3-hour shifts during each of our exhibits.  So think about joining our team and immerse yourself in all that creative energy at the Center! 

 

Time to renew your membership!

We are accepting applications for new memberships to the SFVACC. We are also getting the word out to current members that it's time to renew your membership.  Senior memberships cost $30 a year, individual memberships cost $45 a year and corporate memberships costs $60 a year.  We now offer a membership card with discounts for purchases made at our gift shop and tickets for live performances, etc.  For more information, go to our MEMBERSHIPS & DONATIONS page.  Thanks for your support.
