CELEBRATING FRITZ
MEMORIAL & ART AUCTION
FRITZ SUTER 1939 - 2016 His imagination was endless and gave him much inspiration for his work. Born 1939 in Vienna, Austria, he studied art with Professor Rothstein at the Art Academy Vienna. His mother being Austrian and his father Swiss, gave him the opportunity to live in both countries. For 30 years he owned interior design companies in Austria and Switzerland, allowing him to create art while running his business. His work has expanded to more than 820 pieces. His love of cubism, modernism and whimsical art had influenced his use of strong colors and spontaneous impressions. Continuing to live in Switzerland he showed his work in Austria and Switzerland and his artwork is collected in those countries as well in Sweden, Germany and the USA. Austria's largest music event "Linzer Klangwolke" chose his artwork "11 people" for all their graphics, including CD covers, invitations and posters. In November 2004, Fritz and his wife Karin, a California native, moved to California to further his artistic career. Fritz was an award winning artist and since moving to the US had participated in many juried exhibition, group shows and solo shows in North Hollywood (NOHO ART DISTRICT) and Laguna Beach. He was an exhibiting member of the California Art League, the Pasadena Society of Artists, the National Oil & Acrylic Painters Society and a member of the Municipal Art Gallery and CAD Slide Registry, Los Angeles.
